Description

A smaller form with multiple facets and made from a blend of gritty tile material and my usual throwing clay. The facets created as the form was altered and carved after throwing on the wheel. One of the first Japanese glazes to be used the Shino glaze ranges in colour from milky white to orange, often breaks red at the rim where the glaze thins and sometimes there is charcoal grey spotting, known as ‘carbon trap’ which is the trapping of carbon in the glaze during the firing process.
